Samantha Serbin joined the WTVM News Leader 9 Team in January 2019 as a Multimedia Journalist/Reporter.
She moved to Columbus after leaving the University of Florida in December 2018. Samantha graduated with high honors, a Bachelor’s degree in telecommunication – news and a minor in leadership development.
After her sophomore year, she interned with FOX13 in her hometown of Tampa, Florida. Samantha began her television career in Gainesville, Florida at WUFT News. She helped to report and anchor for the 5 PM newscast. She worked as a reporter for two years, and as an anchor for her last four months. She also produced and anchored a 90-second news segment called News in 90. While reporting, Samantha covered all types of stories ranging from Hurricane Michael coverage, 2018 Election Night and vigil services for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting.
During her time at UF, Samantha was involved in the Eta Xi chapter of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority as well as the leadership development program. She actively participated in philanthropic/volunteer events such as helping out at Gainesville Pet Rescue and raising money for Girls on the Run.
When she’s not as work, Samantha enjoys catching up with friends and family, cooking and listening to music. She also loves taking pictures and helping out with anything to do with dogs. You can also catch her binge watching Grey’s Anatomy on rainy days.
